Andy, Just to let you know we crossed the big bridge last Sunday and caught up with you last Sunday. Dragged along three other couples, two of whom hadn't been before...and bought you DVD. We all thoroughly enjoyed the day. You well and truly remain the best muso in Oz, with the tightest band. Regards,

Andy, saw you and the guys playing at Mordialloc festival in March 08. God it was hot! As the sun came round from out of the stage shade and burnt down on you all, there was Andy, out front, taking one for the team as the rest were up the back in the shade! You still all belted it out beautifully.... Much appreciated.
Have since bought Anthology. I fail to comprehend why your music moves me so much. This is not some archival recording for posterity, it lives and breathes. It's as if there is some hidden subliminal spiritual track mixed into the music. We all go through stuff and sometimes a song comes along that you hold onto to see you through. Motherless Child and Losin' Hand have broken me open.
Andy, thank-you so much for your music and thank-you also to all those you connect with to do what you do. Will see you perform again, no doubt!

Andy, saw you at Capers in Hawthorn for the first time and let me say you captivated me. It has lead me back to teaching the piano which I have always loved to do and now thoroughly enjoying it. I also enjoy listening to your Anthology CD in my car on the way to my lessons, so thank you so much sweet, sexy man.....x.x.x

It can't get much better than sitting in the outdoors at Thredbo Alpine Village as the sun sets over Mount Crackenback listening to Andy Cowan! We travelled just to hear him play and we were not disappointed! A great solo performance followed by Andy and the band later in the evening. I have never seen so many people swaying, dancing and just totally into the music! Even with a few technical hitches Andy and the band put on a spectacular show. We can hardly wait to see him perform again!

Andy, how is it that I have only just found you and your music? If I hadn't just read your biog I'd ask 'where have you been all my life?'. Having recently had more time on my hands and thanks to not having a telly I've turned to the ABC (radio and web) to fill some hours, and I'm so glad I have. I only heard one track, Falling, fell in love with the sound of you, and simply had to find more. Your music is spell-binding - the lightness of your touch on the keys is amazing, the lyrics full of soul, and the many moods of your voice... fascinating. And I have only listened to the MP3s so far. I will be looking for your CDs to get the full sound, and hopefully one day I'll have the pleasure of seeing you live. Are you planning a trip to SA in the forseeable future? Maybe on the way back to beautiful Victoria from the gigs in the West..? Thanks and Regards,

I first heard Andy around 13 or 14 years ago at a little inner-city bar called Feelgoods. I went along one Wednesday night to check out this blues pianist just to pass an evening. I went back every week for around 4 months. I laughed, I stomped, I hurt, I giggled, I was always the last one to stop applauding and I often shed a tear one the way home. There are few musicians on this earth who can take their WHOLE lives and be graceful enough, expressive enough, skilled enough, sympathetic enough, happy enough, sad enough, open enough and brave enough to share it with an audience. Andy can and does. There is no sound system or disc on this planet that can reproduce what Andy can do. You have consoled me, cheered me up, made me want to punch a wall, holler, scream, shout, dance, cry, laugh at life, laugh at love, laugh at me, you have sent shivers down my spine (always) and you have saved me time and time again. I have never understood, but every time I hear what Andy does, I know it's all good. I know that some one can put words to music and throw in the feeling to tell me how it really is.

Hey Andy, Bin a long time. See you are finally making it back to WA. You were the first act I saw at Bridgetown Blues Fest in 2000, which was also the first time I ever went. You had my friend and I mesmerized the whole W/E. (the 2 Roses!) Thrilled to see you're back this year. You were mostly solo that time apart from a few colusions with a local bongo player (was it Ritchie Paldivez?) and the harp player from Collard and Greens. Together you made a top team - I hope your current band lives up to my high std of memories. Looking forward to picking up your 2 latest CDs there - I'll get you to sign them for me also. (Make sure you bring lots this time!) I hope you are going to be interviewed on the local ABC Radio - 720. I remember the afternoon show host raving about you after the 2000 gig.

PS. I hope the sun shines in your backyard a bit more these days. Ciao 4 now, Rosemarie

Hi, I'm SO looking forward to Andys DVD of the Basement Gig. I saw the concert on the ABC and was gobsmacked, dumbfounded and bedazzled by his talents and those of his brilliant band. I've gotta be honest though and say I hadn't heard of him before but I'm certainly making up for that now. I went straight to my nearest ABC Shop and bought his four CDs and needless to say I was gobsmacked, dumbfounded and bedazzled by them all as well! I guess I've seen Andy play many times 'cos I saw Ayers Rock play many times in the 70's and Renee Geyer .. both of course with the magnificent Mark Kennedy and it was great to see him on The Basement show also.
LONG LIVE MUSIC FROM THE HEART AND SOUL.

Well Andy, you've done it again. CONGRATZ got my copy of Sweet Release last week and as with your other three I love it. I do hope that having the ABC behind you you will atain the recognition and heights you so deserve. Andy I got to know of you and your talent in the last four years or so.I saw you perform per chance at Gympie and confess you had me mesmorised and in tears, such was my emotional state. Enough said for now. I now have all your CDs and have made a point of seeing you perform as often as I can. I have been in awe on every occasion. Sweet release now means I now have 4 favourite CDs. your music compliments my mood and occasion beit when I am taking a walk on the beach, a quiet night in front of a fire or in my car as i travel this wonderful land of ours or as I do often, I crank it up on my bose and dance like there is no one watching. Thankyou Andy thankyou for your gift. I wish you all you wish upon yourself HOW CAN SO MUCH TALENT ENERGY AND RAW EMOTION BE PACKED INTO ONE PERSON?

I discovered Andy Cowan on the ABC AirPlay 4 - "Born from A Star" - it was my favourite song on the album, and I didn't check out the name for ages until I knew I just had to hear more of this. I have been looking for years and years for a rythm and blues singer that featured soul and a lot of piano and had never found the right artist - until now. I have the three albums the first two for about 18 months, then inquired for more and ordered 10.30 Thursdays, so the three very rarely leave the CD player now and give me so much pleasure each time I listen. They seem to touch nearly every jopyful emotion one may experience from joy to sensuality to relaxation to mellowness to groove - oh I love it. Thankyou for sharing your boundless talent and gift with us, I can't wait for the next instalment!!.

Dear Andy, I just wanted to express my gratitude for your music. I got turned on to your brilliant sounds by the ABC in brisbane {612 4QR} sometime ago when I heard "Train I'm On" & was instantly drawn to it. I finally found a store with a decent blues catologue {jb hi-fi} & haven't stopped playing both "Train" & "10.30" since getting them. I drive a cab in Brisbane & have given your name to a number of passengers scribbled on a taxi receipt as soon as they've jumped in the seat, it's great music for driving so hopefully you may see some increased sales in briz-vegas. I look forward to seeing you perform live hopefully in the near future back in Brisbane. I see by the net you performed last month on the 2 coasts, cheers.

Heard you at the Gospel fest in Bendigo last year (Anne was one ofthe voices in that much larger choir - MSG) so it was great to revisit your amazing voice this year at Pt Fairy. You've certainly captured our admiration. Hopefully we'll listen to you some more soon

Saw Andy at Port Fairy 2003. Pity we don't live in town. Been a blues fan for years but had never heard any of Andy's music. Bought his 3 cd's and have played them all week - just great! Best $50 I've ever spent. Good luck Andy, I intend spreading the word for what it's worth Regards Crackers

This morning as I was 'rushing' to work I had the pleasure of hearing Andy on Angela Caterns ABC Sydney radio program. I have NEVER heard such a fantastic live performance EVER on radio and have to admit that I had never heard of Andy prior to this morning. Well I have now and this man has wonderful creative talent - no - bugger it - he has musical genius! Pete Machin

I have just bought 2 of Andy's CD's for a friend who listened to mine & he said, "I would do anything to see this guy perform". I first saw Andy in Thredbo 2000, which is when I purchased my CD's. I have also just ordered the latest CD. We are hanging out for the Blue Mountains Festival in March which is the earliest Andy will be in Sydney. I think you're fabulous Andy, & now my friend is a fan too. Jenny
